Job Description
We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our expanding team based in Northampton or Banbury. The ideal candidate will support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Working closely with the management accountant, this role offers an excellent opportunity for gaining additional exposure to month-end management accounts.
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Some flexibility may be required depending on business needs. We offer a competitive salary, benefits package, and the chance to work for a forward-thinking market leader.
Job Purpose
As a Management Accountant, you will produce management accounts and commentary for key business areas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports for central overhead cost centres, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
* Data Entry: Accurately input financial data into accounting systems and maintain current financial records.
* Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare budgets and financial forecasts; monitor actual performance against these budgets.
* Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
* Administrative Tasks: Manage general administrative duties, such as handling the central mailbox and responding to business queries.
Qualifications
* Qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
* Minimum of 2 years experience in management or financial accounting
* Strong Excel skills, including creating and developing spreadsheets with functions (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) or macros to automate and improve processes
* Proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements
* Strong knowledge of accounting regulations, procedures, and current legislation
* High attention to detail with the ability to review and identify errors or queries
* Continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to implement process enhancements efficiently
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work
* Team player with the ability to collaborate and challenge colleagues appropriately
* Analytical skills to interpret data and work through to conclusions
* Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
