Overview

Permanent part‑time role (20 hours per week) based in Barrow‑in‑Furness, Cumbria – hybrid work (3 days a week) with a requirement to live within a commutable distance.


Responsibilities

Manage day‑to‑day accounts payable administration, including review and approval of personal and credit card expenses prior to management approval. Complete supplier statement reconciliations and communicate with suppliers and employees to resolve queries. Work closely with finance and non‑finance employees at all levels within the organisation.

* Follow best practice AP process, ensuring invoices are processed in a timely manner for on‑time supplier payments.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
* Identify issues and report to Group SS AP Manager.
* Use a solution‑focused approach to problems, including root‑cause analysis of P2P problem areas.
* Collaborate with Treasury, Internal Controls and Tax teams.
* Assist Group & Shared Service AR Manager with supplier sanction and credit checks.
* Reconcile supplier statements and comment on creditor ageing.
* Execute supplier payments in line with P2P standards, processes and DOA.
* Process expenses and credit cards.
* Provide information for group external and internal auditors as required.
* Oversee end‑to‑end P2P process: set up supplier, 3‑way match, statement reconciliation, invoice processing, and payment.
* Process supplier invoices and generate, review and upload payments.
* Complete supplier set‑up and due diligence to mitigate risks.


Qualifications & Experience

* Experience of AP processing.
* Hands‑on approach and willingness to participate in training.
* Experience supporting multiple stakeholders at various levels.
* Experience following a process and suggesting ideas for development/improvement.
* Ideally, experience in or with a shared service centre within a group setting.
