Finance Director
Confidential – Private Equity Backed Scale-Up
We are supporting a high-growth, IP-rich international business at a pivotal stage of its development. Backed by private equity and operating across multiple territories, the company combines proprietary intellectual property, licensing frameworks and repeatable commercial models to generate scalable, multi-jurisdiction revenue streams.
With strong growth momentum and clear ambitions for further international expansion - including North America - the business is now entering a structured scale-up phase. Increasing contractual complexity, cross-border operations and investor expectations require a more robust, scalable finance architecture to support value creation and future exit readiness.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board and investors, the Finance Director will lead the build out and professionalisation of the finance function. This is a hands-on, build-and-scale mandate - not a steady-state role.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Establishing scalable financial controls, systems and processes
* Delivering high-quality investor-grade reporting, forecasting and KPI dashboards
* Supporting commercial decision-making across pricing, licensing and deal structuring
* Leading financial planning to underpin international expansion
* Acting as a trusted interface with private equity stakeholders
* Supporting value creation initiatives and exit preparation
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in scaling SMEs or investor-backed businesses. You will combine operational depth with strategic perspective, comfortable rolling up sleeves while building infrastructure capable of supporting significant growth.
Experience within a private equity-backed environment is highly desirable, as is exposure to IP-led, licensing, franchising or multi-territory revenue models. International expansion experience - particularly US exposure - would be advantageous.
The Candidate
This role will suit either an experienced Finance Director interested in being hands on in the build out and scale up of a currently out-sourced finance function before moving into value creation mode, or a driven Head of Finance looking for their first move into the Board room.
