Our state-of-the-art unit offers comprehensive care for sick new-borns, featuring:
* 9 Intensive Care Cots
* 9 High Dependency Cots
* 19 Special Care Cots
* 4 Transitional Care Cots

Role
Join Our Compassionate Team as a Neonatal Bereavement Support Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated Post Holder to lead and support our neonatal and multidisciplinary teams in providing compassionate, evidence-based care for families experiencing loss.
In this vital role, you'll:
* Guide and support families through confidential, memory-making experiences during grief and bereavement
* Act as a compassionate role model, educator, and mentor for staff and students, fostering a culture of best practice
* Promote a supportive environment where families feel cared for and remembered with dignity
* Utilise your expertise to influence and improve care standards, ensuring that every family receives the highest quality support

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Nursing/Midwifery Degree/Diploma
* Qualification in Speciality as a Neonatal Nurse
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
* Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
Desirable
* Appropriate Bereavement and Palliative Care Courses
* Counselling Qualification
* Recognised Teaching Qualification
* Multilingual
* Full UK driving license with willingness to use own car for work purposes
Knowledge Training & Experience
Essential
* Experience of providing the full sphere of neonatal care
* Knowledge of the care and management of Children/young people requiring palliative care
* Understand local and national neonatal agendas associated with National Bereavement Pathways
* Knowledge of the PMRT process
Desirable
* Provision of Bereavement Care
* Ability to or working towards competence in obtaining post-mortem consent and compliance with the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) regulations
* Knowledge and understanding of the reporting requirements to external bodies following neonatal loss
