Hangar 63 Assistant (6month Fixed Term Contract)
Base: Hangar 63, Progress House, Eaglescliffe
Hours: 37.5 hours/week over 7-day rota (Mon–Sun)
Reports to: Commercial Projects Supervisor
Salary: £25000
As Hangar 63 Assistant, you'll help run the shopfloor and café space, support our fantastic volunteers, and ensure all visitors have a warm and welcoming experience. This is a fast-paced role where no two days are the same — ideal for someone with a positive attitude and great people skills.
Main purpose of job: To help run the shopfloor on a day-to-day basis in Hangar 63 and assist the volunteers.
Role Summary
Greeting customers and serving coffee and baked goods, ensuring the smooth running of the coffee house and making sure the maintenance and cleanliness is of a high standard.
Main tasks of job:
1. Prepare drinks adhering to the charity's Coffee House policies
2. Take food and drink orders, the accurate use of the Coffee House ordering system and use of the computerised till and payment system
3. Serve drinks and meals at both counter and tables.
4. Clear and clean tables
5. Assist the volunteers working in Hangar 63
6. Cash handling and cashing up the till
7. Maintain Health and Hygiene standards in all areas of the Coffee House
8. Communicate in a courteous and professional manner with members of the public/supporters
9. Assist in the re-stocking and display of shop stock practising good stock rotation
10. Accurately complete all relevant paperwork.
11. Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures
12. Assist in induction training of new team members as required
Qualifications/Education/Training
Essential
Minimum of 3 GCSE's grade C and above including English and Maths or equivalent
Holds a current clean driving licence
Desirable
Level 1 Award in food safety and catering and Manufacturing.
