Hitachi is hiring a GIS Installation Project Manager to join our High Voltage team in this pivotal role. You will take the lead in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Hitachi Energy’s Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) across the UK. By collaborating closely with internal stakeholders—including factories and service units—you will drive seamless project execution, deliver exceptional customer satisfaction, and secure optimal outcomes for Hitachi Energy. How You’ll Make An Impact Take ownership of the coordination and organizational management of on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities Serve as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders Supervise assigned field staff, prepare installation schedules based on available resources (e.g., tools, consumables, personnel), and monitor and document project progress and costs through regular reporting Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement necessary quality assurance measures to minimize project risks and costs Handle deviation reports in a process-oriented manner and initiate appropriate corrective actions Use your working knowledge of Gas Insulated Switchgear to make informed decisions on technical matters Visit sites throughout the United Kingdom regularly to build a connection between the office and the site Your Background HNC or equivalent in engineering, project management, or a related field Proven experience in leadership, capable of managing and motivating teams Ability to manage relationships and act as the primary point of contact with clients Analytical and problem-solving skills to handle project challenges Knowledge of SAP and MS Office Fluent in English (written and verbal) Valid UK Driving License Hitachi Energy is a global technology leader in electrification, powering a sustainable energy future through innovative power grid technologies with digital at the core.
