Job Summary
We are seeking a Management Accountant for a maternity cover role, lasting a minimum of 12 months, to join our dynamic Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will oversee the production of management accounts across various subsidiaries and ensure timely reporting. If you are passionate about accuracy, efficiency, and supporting decision-making, we want you on our team.
This role is based in Maidstone 3 days per week, with 2 days remote working.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee the production of accurate P&L and management account information.
2. Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet items, including journal postings.
3. Provide insightful commentary on balance sheets, reviewing junior staff contributions.
4. Contribute to the monthly commission statement and the month-end closure process.
5. Manage queries from auditors and provide key business information to support decision-making.
6. Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the management accounts function.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective and timely completion of tasks.
8. Proactively manage workload to meet tight month-end deadlines.
9. Support ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and project work as required.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, including a 1-hour lunch break (40 hours per week).

Experience and Skills Required
* Qualifications: Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent), or in the final stages of qualification.
* Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
* Skills: Strong analytical, IT, and Excel skills. Proficiency in Word. Excellent attention to detail.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Work Ethic: Experience working to tight deadlines and managing a high-volume workload.
