Location: Astec Industries Europe Limited, 3 Bankmore Way East
Reporting to the Site Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the Finance Department continues to support the business going forward. We want both a financial and operational focused individual with the drive and commitment to make it happen. The role requires someone with the ability to manage their own workload with minimal supervision and be able to think on their own feet and make the correct decisions with little hesitation. You must be professionally qualified and have a minimum 3-5 years post qualified experience gained within business / industry, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
About The Role
Reporting directly to the Site Controller, you will contribute to the strategic planning, financial management and take ownership of the day to-day running of the finance function within the Company.
Responsible for the preparation of monthly management and financial accounts packages to a 4-day period close deadline.
Maintenance of balance sheet accounts and strategic P&L analysis – including variance analysis to budget
Assist the controller with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
Ensure timely compliance with all US parent company reporting timeframes and requirements.
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
Assist the Controller with wider corporate objectives.
Liaise with auditors and other external financial / government bodies.
Manage the finance team with 4-6 direct reports – including HR and personnel management
Lead the finance team in relation to accounts payables, supplier payments and costings - ensuring the current level of high professional standards continue to be achieved and maintained.
Drive improvements with daily activities and identify areas for enhanced financial analysis which will benefit the wider company
Work closely with other departments: Engineering, Sales, Production and Manufacturing to ensure that all Finance standards, processes, policies and procedures are being adhered to.

Required Criteria
Fully Qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA Accountant.
A minimum of 3-5 years post qualification experience gained within business/industry, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience of managing a team with the ability to ensure their underlying development objectives are monitored and assessed on a regular basis.
Proficiency and accuracy in financial accounting & reporting, including external statutory reporting and audit.
Management accounting experience including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting.
High degree of IT literacy, including the Microsoft suite.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
Confident and articulate in meetings and formal presentations.
Sound commercial acumen, with a clear focus on the key drivers of value in the Company and how to harness them.
A "Can do" attitude and ability to interact with a multi-functional team.
Ability to work both pro-actively and reactively with others to meet deadlines.
Able to assess workload and commit to realistic timelines.
Ability to work to and meet strict deadlines.
Desired Criteria
Strong systems knowledge and in-depth experience of an integrated financial reporting package (i.e. ERP system) – previous working experience of Epicor an advantage.
Experience of internal controls/auditing.
Previous exposure and knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
