Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £15.59 an hour; this increases to £16.86 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with options for 12‑hour shifts if preferred.
As a Shift Leader you will:
* Work in a fast‑paced retail environment, managing the shop floor.
* Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well‑stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
* Be there for customers, listening and ensuring they leave with what they came for.
* Look for ways to improve service, including coaching colleagues and giving feedback.
* Guide and support colleagues, ensuring safety and a welcoming environment.
* Maintain a clear understanding of store performance, assisting managers with actions to improve operations.
* Lead from the front, setting a great example for the team.
* Support daily priorities and ensure regular breaks for staff.
* Open and close the store, completing duty cover and making safe decisions.
* Serve as the go‑to person for day‑to‑day queries in the manager’s absence.
* Keep the store clean, tidy, and well‑presented.
* Help coordinate seasonal, community and charity events.
* Contribute to a positive team atmosphere that is inclusive of everyone.
* Provide excellent customer service, putting customers first.
* Keep the team informed of any communication, changes or updates.
* Stay knowledgeable about store performance, seeking ways to simplify operations.
* Coordinate store improvements and remove obstacles to service.
* Follow health and safety routines, ensuring colleagues do the same.
* Recognise and celebrate colleagues who deliver great service.
* Build strong, lasting relationships with colleagues and encourage them to do their best work.
* Communicate clearly, using multiple methods to keep the team updated.
* Handle decision‑making and adapt to change to benefit customers and colleagues.
* Motivate the team to deliver beyond expectations.

Requirements:
* Minimum age 18.
* Experience in a retail environment is preferred.
* Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings or late evenings if required.
