Overview
Personal Assistant required for a fun, energetic young boy. KCA is a 10-year-old boy who lives in the G13 area of the city. He thrives on routine, structure, and predictability, which helps him feel secure and confident in day-to-day routines and activities. KCA values choice and independence and enjoys doing things his own way. He benefits from gentle guidance, patience, and a calm, flexible approach. Consistency and reassurance are important for him and having this consistent support.
A typical day may include escorting him home from school, spending time on the iPad, supporting him with homework, and learning through play. Activities may include arts and crafts and access to swimming. KCA has autism and enjoys active play, spending time in the garden and on the trampoline to release energy. The role may also include supporting him to attend after-school clubs on Wednesdays.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal and domestic support, including preparing simple meals/snacks, warming and serving meals prepared by mum, and general cleaning around meal prep areas and at the table.
* Support with shopping and personal care tasks as needed.
* Accompany the family on days out and help maintain structure and engagement in daily activities.
Qualifications and Qualities
* Local or easily commutable location; flexible and reliable.
* Confident, caring, self-led with great attention to detail.
* Experience supporting people with autism is desirable.
Details
* Hours: 16 hours per week (typically 3 hours per day, Monday–Friday) with occasional weekend work.
* Rate: £13.60 per hour.
* Start and finish times to be discussed at interview.
