Project Engineer UK&I

About the Role
JBT Marel currently has a great opportunity for a Project Engineer UK&I to join the ACS Team in Sutton Weaver. To support significant client demand and strategic partnerships for our Auto Coding Solutions, JBT Marel requires a new member of our project engineering team. The day‑to‑day duties will be varied and include managing customer communications, leading project activities, installing hardware on customer sites, supporting end users, working with integrators, and conducting site training. The role also includes deployment of software and configuration of systems both remotely via VPN and on clients’ sites throughout the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
* Work with the Project Manager and Team Scheduler for workload and task management.
* Act as on‑site project lead, coordinating activities and communicating project tasks.
* Utilise your software, electrical and mechanical skills to install, troubleshoot and support the end‑to‑end solution to a high standard and efficiently.
* Configure hardware devices such as HMIs, PCs, PLCs, barcode scanners, vision equipment and industrial coders.
* Fault find on Ethernet and RS232 using electrical and software skills.
* Undertake customer training from basic line operation to full system training.
* Communicate and lead discussions with a wide customer audience.
* Configure the end‑to‑end solution to enable integration from line side through to ERP/MES type systems.
* Conduct project analysis such as packaging, hardware and system implementation surveys.
* Identify and esalate issues through defined channels when necessary.
* Ensure all project tracking systems are updated and maintained aligned with your workload.
Required Skills & Experience
* At least 5 years of experience working in an engineering role.
* Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in a relevant electrical discipline.
* Minimum of HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Demonstrated mechanical skills.
* Strong appetite to learn and use our own software and 3rd‑party software systems.
* Innovative approach to problem solving with a willingness to share knowledge.
* Basic understanding of TCP/IP networks.
* Ability to prioritise issues and esalate when necessary.
* End‑user and project team training skills.
* Excellent client‑facing skills.
* Full UK passport and UK driving licence.
Nice to Have
* Knowledge of Microsoft SQL tools including SSRS, SSAS, SSIS.
* Experience with industrial devices and communication protocols.
* Experience with project management philosophies such as Prince2, Agile.
* PLC skills – Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens.
* Understanding of vision devices such as Sick, Cognex, Omron.
