About the Role
The Head Teacher is looking to take on an experienced GCSE English Teacher on a long‑term basis until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will teach students in a subject they are passionate about and inspire them to study at a higher level thereafter. The role is paramount in helping learners achieve excellent results whilst following and implementing the schemes of learning.
Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging GCSE English lessons aligned with the curriculum. • Support students to achieve high academic outcomes. • Implement appropriate schemes of learning and assessment strategies. • Provide continuous feedback to pupils, parents and staff. • Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and support SEND pupils where needed.
Qualifications
* A first‑class or 2:1 degree in English
* QTS, PGCE or DTTLS and experience in a further‑education environment
* Experience teaching young people in a diverse setting
* Excellent spoken and written communication skills
* Experience with SEND and Safeguarding desirable
