About the role
In your role as IT Application Analyst you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset.
This role will provide a great opportunity tobecome a core member of the IT Change team, the role is to proactively support the delivery of the ITFM business plan and Pensions Platform programme strategic initiative by being accountable for analysing and capturing the technical requirements on any aspects of technology across the IT function.
What you will be doing
As a trusted part of the IT you will be responsible for:
* Capture and document service management and support documentation in advance of newly implemented Pensions Platform and any subsequent changes required to existing Business Systems. Documentation to include Release, Deployment, Security, and Incident Management processes.
* Capture and document performance and monitoring requirements in advance of newly implemented Pensions Platfor
* Capture and document usability and access requirements in advance of the newly implemented Pensions Platform and any subsequent changes required to existing service management processes i.e. Business Systems owner approvals, attestations
* Supporting technology audit actions and risk mitigations during Pensions Platform
* Supporting technology teams in adherence to existing service management processes during Pensions Platform implementation
* Collaborate with business analysts and solutions architect to understand business requirements and provide technical analysis support for projects as instructed under the guidance of IT Project Managers
* Define and capture detailed technical requirements across all aspects of the technology estate for assigned projects with clear, concise documentation
* Develop close work relationships to communicate and collaborate across departments to ensure newly implemented solutions are a success
* Ensure knowledge and skills obtained during projects are transferred to relevant IT teams
* Assist and provide the Enterprise Architecture function with application interface, integration and solution documentation which can be stored in the EA repository
* Assist with RFP/selection process for third party vendors where applicable, providing technical guidance and relevant documentation for evaluation of software
* Actively manage own workload, whilst supporting the IT Project Managers in the delivery of projects and initiatives
* Liaising with IT technical teams to understand the current technology in use to support future technical requirements gathering and to input into strategic recommendations
* Develop close working relationships with the IT and Transformation teams
* Ensure scope and detailed system requirements align with Enterprise Business Change Process

To be successful in the role you will have:
* Excellent understanding and general knowledge for all aspects of technology
* Extensive prior experience in capturing technical and non-technical requirements
* Ability to understand and summarise requirements in a way that they can be understood from both technical and non-technical aspect
* Technical familiarity and experience in capturing application architecture documentation
* Good relationship and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to engage with and gain the confidence of others as well as contribute or challenge where appropriate
* Strong communication skills (written, pictorial, presentational and verbal) including the ability to adapt communications to different audiences
* Able to manage own workload proactively and prioritise as required
