We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join the team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet.

What you'll be doing
* You will be an integral part of a passionate team helping to provide meals for our patients and ensuring they receive a high-quality experience.
* Providing an efficient, high-quality food and beverage service in line with defined standards, policies, and procedures.
* Involved in all aspects of food and beverage service to patients during your shift.
* Serving meals to inpatients and auditing nutritional intake sheets for each meal.
* Informing staff of any patient who has refused or eaten little of their meal for further management.
* Acting on patient dietary requests for additional or alternative food or beverages and reporting any difficulties or dissatisfaction to the Head or Second Chef.
* Regenerating chilled/frozen food and preparing sauces.
* Plating and serving cold and hot food items, including condiments.
* Probing and recording food and equipment temperatures.
* Providing beverage service, refilling water jugs and beakers, and taking patient orders to communicate with the catering department.
What we’ll look for in you
* Familiarity with health code standards for food preparation and presentation.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills for working with the public.
* Team player willing to take on additional tasks.
* Knowledge of various food types, menus, recipes, and presentation.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Enjoyment of working in a fast-paced, team environment.
* Possession of a Basic Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain one.
* Experience in a similar role.
