Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold foods. Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently. Monitor food quality while preparing food. Set-up and break down workstation. Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles. Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.

We are looking for a Commis Chef to join our wonderful team at Hanbury Manor.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Diploma or degree from accredited university in culinary arts or NVQ or related major
2. Minimum 3 years experience in similar environment preferred
3. Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
4. Innovative and creative in food production
5. Pro-active and reliable
6. Positive attitude
7. Good preparation and co-ordination skills
8. Able to work alone and within a team
9. Good level of English essential in reading and writing
10. Food Safety certification desirable
