The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join our in-house team of over 30 work winning consultants to fully integrate with client teams and help to deliver our mission: Building effective partnerships to unlock the potential and success of our clients. The role offers exposure to complex, high-value opportunities and supports accelerated professional development within a fast-paced consultancy environment, securing major projects across: Highways, rail and high-speed rail markets Construction and Facilities Management Emerging sectors including renewables, energy, defence and nuclear. Location EiB Bid Hubs are in central Birmingham, Edinburgh and Dublin. We offer a flexible working model aligned to our clients needs, combining office and home working with on-site support at client locations across the UK and Europe. Key responsibilities Bid leadership and strategy Lead the full bid lifecycle from opportunity qualification through to submission Evaluate bid opportunities and advise on approach Shape win strategies, value propositions and win themes with technical, commercial and operational teams Provide challenge at key stages of the bid process Ensure submissions align with client requirements, internal governance and brand standards. Bid planning and delivery Develop and manage bid programmes, timelines and resourcing Lead bid launch sessions, solution development workshops and review meetings Manage EiB and/or client bid writing teams Coordinate multidisciplinary contributors to secure timely, high - quality inputs Provide hands - on support to develop answer plans, storyboards and written content Produce and deliver compliant, client - focussed tender submissions. Stakeholder and relationship management Build and maintain effective relationships with client bid teams, subject matter experts and key contributors Communicate progress clearly and escalate risks where required Capture information and insight from technical specialists to inform bid responses. Quality assurance and continuous improvement Oversee the development, refinement and integration of bid content Lead reviews and debriefs, ensuring feedback is addressed Capture post - submission lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement Maintain and improve bid libraries, templates and best - practice materials Champion effective work winning practices across the business. Coaching and capability development Provide mentoring and coaching to client staff Support skill transfer and competence development within client teams. Business development Supporting business development by identifying future opportunities Owning relationships with key clients as part of our Key Account Management (KAM) model. Skills and experience Essential Strong understanding of the bid lifecycle and work winning processes Excellent writing, editing and communication skills, with a clear understanding of quality standards Confident facilitator with strong organisational and project management capabilit Ability to manage multiple deadlines in pressurised environment Collaborative approach with the ability to influence and engage stakeholder Experience operating in a senior bid management role within a professional services/consultancy environment or in a Tier 1/2 construction, contracting or maintenance environment Proven delivery of successful, high-value bids across EiBs core markets Experience supporting the strategic development of technical quality submissions and high-performing teams Strong time management skills with attention to detail and quality Degree-level education and or professional qualifications in a relevant discipline Professional membership of APMP or a similar body.
