Leader Education are currently recruiting a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school based in Choppington, Northumberland. This role involves supporting both Primary and Secondary aged students on an individual basis, helping them access learning, develop confidence, and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 support to students with a range of special educational needs.
* Assist with classroom activities, behaviour regulation, and personalised learning plans.
* Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to implement EHCP targets.
* Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
* Encourage independence, emotional wellbeing, and progress for each student.
About You
* Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEND setting.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting individual needs.
* Ability to build rapport and maintain positive professional relationships.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
