Protocol Education are working with a specialist SEND school in the Peterlee area supporting pupils aged 2–19 with complex additional needs and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The school provides a highly supportive learning environment, with small class sizes, specialist equipment and a strong focus on personalised learning. As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a variety of needs including autism, learning difficulties, communication needs and sensory processing challenges. Responsibilities may include: • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups • Assisting with communication and interaction • Encouraging independence and life skills development • Supporting pupils with sensory activities and structured routines The school is looking for candidates who are supportive, enthusiastic and passionate about SEND education. Applicants should ideally hold a valid DBS on the Update Service. Candidates who do not currently have one will be required to apply for a DBS through Protocol Education before starting the role.
