Philanthropy Events Senior Executive – Salary £31,000 - £33,000 plus benefits. Reports to: Philanthropy Events Senior Manager. Location: Stratford, London. Hours: 35 hrs per week, full-time; office‑based with flexibility (1‑2 days per week).
Overview: You will play a key role in project managing and delivering a variety of high‑profile events for Cancer Research UK’s philanthropy audience, managing relationships with high‑net‑worth supporters, internal stakeholders and third‑party suppliers.
Responsibilities
* Deliver several events each year to high standard, within budget and meeting fundraising targets.
* Oversee event marketing, guest‑list management, sponsorship acquisition, volunteer management and booking of entertainment.
* Manage event fundraising streams – auctions, raffles, pledges and games – to maximise revenue.
* Maintain key supplier relationships, ensuring best value, quality and timely payments.
* Manage event budgets and finances, tracking income and expenditure accurately.
* Engage with supporters and stakeholders to maximise contribution and retention.
* Assist the Event Manager on additional events and relationships as required.
* Identify new philanthropy prospects and support post‑event engagement with attendees.
* Inform senior management of risks and opportunities, ensuring all suppliers are paid promptly.
* Support team improvement initiatives and mentor junior executives.
Qualifications & Skills
* Proven project‑management experience in fundraising events.
* Experience building and sustaining supporter relationships.
* Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
* Strong written and oral communication skills, with a flexible style.
* Problem‑solving ability, staying calm under pressure.
* Excellent organisational and IT skills with meticulous attention to detail.
* Capability to negotiate and secure contracts with external suppliers.
* Confidence in influencing stakeholders at all levels.
