Are you an experienced offshore operations professional ready to take the helm of major subsea construction projects? We're seeking an Operations Manager to drive the safe, efficient execution of cutting-edge Nearshore & Offshore campaigns including cable lay, trenching, SURF, and subsea construction.
The Opportunity
This is your chance to lead high-value offshore projects from planning through execution, managing vessel deployment, asset utilisation, and multidisciplinary teams across international sites. You'll be the critical link between engineering, project leadership, fleet management, and clients, ensuring operational excellence at every stage.
Location: Blyth. Hybrid 3 days office and 2 days home.
Travel: Visits to project sites, supplier facilities, and offshore locations including Paris, Germany and Rotterdam.

What You'll Do
* Plan and supervise offshore operations including cable lay, trenching, subsea construction, and SURF activities
* Manage vessel and asset deployment, ensuring optimal fleet utilisation and operational readiness
* Drive compliance with HSEQ policies, international standards, and client specifications
* Monitor project performance against schedules, budgets, and KPIs, implementing corrective actions when needed
* Lead mobilisation/demobilisation activities, port calls, and load-out operations
* Represent the company in operational discussions with clients, partners, and subcontractors
* Oversee international logistics including shipping, customs clearance, and offshore equipment mobilisation
* Build and develop high-performing onshore and offshore operations teams
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Degree in Engineering, Marine, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
* Proven track record managing offshore projects, vessels, or large-scale operations
* Experience leading multi-cultural, multi-discipline teams across offshore and onshore environments
* Strong understanding of offshore construction methods: SURF, cable lay, pipelay (S-lay/J-lay), trenching, heavy lift
* Solid knowledge of HSEQ requirements, marine regulations, and industry standards (IMCA, DNV, ISO)
* Commercial acumen with budget management skills
* Fluent English (verbal and written)
Desirable:
* Experience in shallow water and intertidal operations
* Additional language skills
* Exposure to export control and trade regulations
