Stores Operator; Usk Monmouthshire; 9 month contract; £16.82ph (standard rate)paye; 37 hours per week ( shift patterns apply)
Our aerospace and defence client are currently recruiting for Store Operators to join their Glascoed site Stores Team; the role covers a wide spectrum of duties with flexibility & decision-making being key contributors to ensuring Production demands are satisfied in a timely manner & our customers goods loaded on time.
Due to the nature of the role encompassing Forklift & Heavy Goods Vehicle driving as well as manual handling, safety is number one priority.
Store operators are key to ensuring stock quantities are always correct & comply with building licensing requirements The shift pattern for these roles are as follows: working a rotating 3 x 8 hr shift pattern, 10pm Sunday night to 6am Monday morning or 6am - 2pm or 2pm - 10pm but rotating each week. There will also be a requirement to work 12 hours overtime on a Sunday, 1 in every 3 weeks
Duties
Working a 3-shift pattern.
Identifying, picking & transporting goods from various storage locations & delivering to Production groups and returning goods to Stores and completing appropriate SAP transactions.
Loading & unloading goods from a variety of vehicles e.g. vans, lorries & containers.
Checking incoming material has appropriate paperwork prior to booking into SAP. Ensure that incoming material is correctly handled regarding Legal compliance.
Identifying defects or errors in incoming material & paperwork and raising appropriate documentation.
Allocating storage locations & preparing identification labels for incoming materials.
Ensuring that all material issued from stores is properly identified and bears the appropriate inspection status
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Previous experience in a manufacturing stores warehouse role essential.
Forklift truck licence.
Prepared to drive the Site Heavy Goods Vehicles - HGV licence desirable (Training will be given).
Able to use and understand SAP software. (Training will be given).
Good computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft packages.
Experience working in hazardous areas & understanding licensing limits would be advantageous
