To carry out the duties of a Planning Policy Officer, who is responsible for various planning policy matters, including supporting project delivery, conducting research, maintaining records for the team, and contributing to the wider work of the Strategic Planning Team.
What does this job involve?
1. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the successful delivery of the Telford & Wrekin Local Development Plan.
2. Ideally suited for experienced officers or graduates eager to apply skills quickly, such as stakeholder engagement, data monitoring, problem solving, research tasks, and using GIS mapping software.
3. The role involves guiding the plan through the formal examination process, collaborating with Council teams and stakeholders to gather evidence and support the adoption of the Local Development Plan.
4. Supporting engagement with housing developers to monitor and update the Council's housing land supply data.
5. Monitoring and responding to changes in Government Policy, including drafting policy recommendations.
