A well-established, multidisciplinary environmental and design consultancy is seeking an Ecologist to join its team based in Lockington. Key responsibilities include:
* Undertaking a variety of habitat and protected species surveys
* Producing high-quality ecological reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments
* Supporting project management and coordinating survey programmes
* Advising clients on ecological constraints, mitigation, and enhancement opportunities
* Contributing to biodiversity net gain strategies and habitat design
* Mentoring junior team members where appropriate
You will ideally have:
* A degree in Ecology or a related discipline
* Proven experience in ecological consultancy or a similar role
* Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
* Experience with protected species surveys (one or more licences desirable)
* Excellent report writing and communication skills
* Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. working towards or holding CIEEM membership)
* A full UK driving licence
