Position Overview
Family Practitioners work with disabled children and their families to support them through a restorative practice model, helping families stay together where safe and strengthening parent confidence. The role is located in either Newcastle (covering Newcastle and Staffordshire Moorlands Districts) or Stafford (covering Stafford and South Staffordshire Districts).
Key Details
Hours: 37 hours per week, with potential evening and weekend work. Closing date 19th April 2026.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with social workers to support children needing care, children on child‑protection plans, and children in care.
* Conduct home and school visits to provide direct, focused support to children and families.
* Provide mediation, crisis‑prevention, conflict‑resolution, and Life Story work.
* Complete accurate documentation, reports, and records of all work performed.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 related to working with children and families, or relevant experience in the same area.
* Ability to engage and communicate effectively with disabled children and their families.
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
* Current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
