Senior Project Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Accountant to join project Marshall, a major Air Traffic Management (ATM) delivery programme to the UK MOD. The scope of Thales delivery covers the provision of integrated surveillance assets including static, deployed and other radar systems, communications equipment, network capability and centralised ATM capability.

Key responsibilities :
5. Ensure that forecast orders, sales and invoicing are updated on a regular basis including identifying R&O’s monthly
6. Assist in the completion of the Program Dashboards and CSR
7. Monitor project expenditure and delivery with a tight focus on cash milestones.
8. Support Program Managers to understand actual costs incurred
9. Support Programme Managers to ensure costs to completion estimates and estimates at completion (EAC) for programmes are correctly reflected
10. Proactive in identifying cost savings
11. Monitor and report on risks associated with Program
12. Play an active part in the reconciliation of project costs within oracle and manage monthly reconciliations
13. Support the Head of Finance in preparation of annual budgets (MYB) and forecasts
14. Consolidate all Marshall subcontracts into Anaplan and understand the movements in their local EAC’s
15. Participate and challenge in bid process and support commercial on claims
16. Support the closure of the project
About You
Ideally, you’ll:
17. Be educated to degree level (preferably in a finance, or related discipline) and hold a professional accounting qualification - desirable not essential
18. Have proven experience of Project Accounting within an engineering/manufacturing/construction/defence background
19. Have a good understanding of commercial and financial aspects of the business
20. Be comfortable working with and proposing solutions to complex issues
21. Have the ability to present and explain the implication of complex business issues
22. Be able to interact with non-finance managers and individuals at all levels in the business
23. Be flexible to work in a changing environment
24. Be highly proficient in Excel
