What You'll Be Doing
* Reviewing and enhancing our recruitment processes so every applicant has the best possible chance to succeed.
* Improving the information and support available to candidates on our website.
* Working with managers to explore new, innovative, and accessible ways to attract talent.
* Ensuring every applicant feels supported, valued, and encouraged throughout their journey with us.
Pathways to Work Programme
* Identifying the challenges people face when applying for roles.
* Exploring how we can reduce these barriers through skills development, reasonable adjustments, and tailored support.
* Helping shape recruitment processes that encourage Pathways to Work participants to apply for roles with the Council.
Another key part of your work will be strengthening our work experience offer. This is a vital way for people to understand the breadth of roles we provide and discover where their skills and ambitions fit. You'll help us create meaningful, high-quality experiences that inspire future applicants and showcase the Council as a great place to work.
Qualifications and Experience
* HR experience with strong knowledge of recruitment and retention practices, including work experience and volunteering pathways.
* An understanding of the recruitment challenges faced by local authorities.
* A motivated, organised approach, with the ability to manage your own workload and drive forward impactful projects.
* Knowledge of the Pathways to Work programme and its aims.
* The ability to build strong, positive relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
