You will be working for a well-known organisation based in Birmingham. The role is outside scope of IR35 and is to be based on-site 2–3 days a week. Local or Centralernment experience is essential for this role, along with Oracle Fusion and ERP implementation experience. The contract length is until April 2026 with a possible extension.
Your new role
Key Deliverables:
1. With input from the Programme Director, oversee and manage delivery of the overall programme considering time, quality and budget. This will include reviewing key activities and milestones, reporting on overall progress, helping address key issues, finding ways to clear blockers and identifying and managing risks.
2. Supported by the PMO, oversee the day-to-day project management activities which would be expected of a project of this nature, for example identifying and managing risks and issues (ensuring clear ownership of all items, timely updates, and alignment with the Programme Plan), progress reporting and update of the project plan.
3. Oversee the solution architects, build and maintain the core delivery documentation / solution plan for re-implementation.
Lead the coordination and management of the Programme Plan, integrating all workstream deliverables and dependencies to maintain a live, accurate view of Programme status, including clear visibility of impacts on the critical path.
4. Identify, track and manage Programme dependencies, both internal (across Programme workstreams) and external (wider business functions and delivery partners).
5. Co-ordinate the production and development of a programme business case to clearly manage the scope of the Programme.
6. Oversee the planning and allocation resources to deliver the re-implementation plan, including BCC resources, interims and third parties.
7. Provide high quality support to BCC and Programmeernance boards, preparing papers, updates, and reports to enable informed decision-making
8. Where requested, represent the Programme Director at key meetings, for example programme board, design authority and otherernance meetings.
9. Lead the workstream leads / all hands meeting in supporting delivery of the programme.
10. Provide ad-hoc support to workstream leads and other team members in resolving issues.
11. Directly and indirectly, support the pastoral care of the project team.
Essential Skills and Experience Required
12. Extensive experience implementing Oracle Cloud Finance and HR modules in the UK public sector.
13. Extensive experience as programme manager in delivering ERP implementations.
14. Extensive experience of identifying and resolving typical problems and challenges encountered when implementing Oracle Cloud Finance and HR.
15. Experience in leading diverse delivery chains, including client, interim and third party resources.
16. Extensive experience in managing teams, including both managing senior stakeholders and coaching teams in what can sometimes be a pressured environment due to project issues/timescales/savings pressures.
17. Project management and Oracle Cloud certifications are desirable.
