The Team facilitates and supports the delivery of research within the Renal and Urology/Oncology Research Team.

The current specialty areas we cover Renal Dialysis In/Out Patient, Renal Transplants wards, clinics, Dialysis Units cross other MFT Hospitals, Nephrology clinics, Urology/Oncology clinics, wards and other MFT Hospitals


Main duties of the job

You will take a proactive approach in managing clinical research studies including developing study procedures and practice, gaining consent and approvals and recruiting patients, alongside clinical duties including providing the highest quality patient care and collecting and processing samples.

You will be instrumental in implementing study objectives and will provide dedicated support to ensure that studies are delivered to time and target.

You will be the main point of contact for study principal investigators, sponsors and patients and so effective communication and team working skills are essential. You will be involved in ensuri ng that research undertaken at MFT safeguards the well-being of patients and is undertaken within ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.

Person specification


Qualifications

* Registered Nurse- currently registered with the NMC
* Degree in healthcare subject or equivalent level of experience
* Good Clinical Practice certificate
* Additional specialist training


Knowledge

* Understanding of clinical research
* Knowledge of ICH- Good Clinical Practice regulations relating to clinical research
* Knowledge of clinical and research governance
* Knowledge of Trust policies and procedures
* Previous Haematology experience is desirable


Training and Experience

* Significant experience of working in a clinical environment within NHS
* Proven experience of working to deadlines
* Proven experience of dealing with a busy workload
* Experience of explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear and simplified manner
* Evidence of CPD
* Experience in clinical research
* Interest in research

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
