* Assist with inspections, projects, investigations, meetings, and complaints
* Handle evidence, records, and data with confidentiality and integrity
* Conduct research and produce reports to aid investigations
* Taking samples/test purchases of foods, consumer goods, such as toys, cosmetics, vapes, tobacco and electrical items, or jewellery and alcohol, to have them checked against legal standards
* Working with partners to protect consumers and businesses from fraud and scams and interrupting doorstep rogue traders
* Investigating rogue traders, preparing criminal cases, and giving evidence in court
* Provide business support services and general administrative duties
* Participate in meetings, training, and seminars to improve communication
* An enhanced DBS check is required for council officers who visit residents’ homes or work regularly with children
