Mechanical Inspector – Precision Engineering Location: Basingstoke Hours: Full-Time, Permanent (40 hours/week) - Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30 Friday: 07:30 – 14:00 Pay Rate: £17 p/h negotiable Our client are a market leading manufacturer of high precision parts for a number of industries including aerospace and automotive. We are assisting them with their search for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join their busy team. Qualifications & Experience * Advanced Apprenticeship or Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (preferred) * Proven experience in mechanical/quality inspection within CNC machining and precision manufacturing Skills & Abilities * Proficient with inspection tools: Verniers, Micrometers, Bore Gauges, Linear Height Gauges, Surface Finish Testers * Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) * Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards * Working knowledge of CMM operation (Mitutoyo preferred) * Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and communication skills * Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel Key Responsibilities * Conduct Goods Inwards, In-Process, and Final Inspection of components * Perform visual/dimensional checks and assess surface condition * Create and compile Inspection Reports, Certificates of Conformance, FAIRs, and customer QA documentation * Raise Non-Conformance Reports and contribute to 8D investigations * Verify processing steps per route cards * Maintain calibration records and support system accuracy * Liaise with production teams and ensure inspection documentation is correct and complete * Fulfill additional duties set by the Inspection Team Leader and Head of Quality What Next?
