Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Robotics Consultant to work on a full-time, long-term basis for a law enforcement body based in Surrey. The role is fully-remote, but successful applicants would need to travel to the site in order to collect the necessary equipment on their first day. Be advised, as this role involves working within law enforcement, successful applicants will need to pass through national security vetting checks. As such, applicants must have resided in the UK for at least the last 5 years. The role is paying £700 per day, PAYE (inside IR35). Successful RPA developers require a mix of technical expertise, analytical thinking, business understanding, and strong communication to design, deploy, and maintain high-quality automation solutions. 1. Programming and Technical Skills Programming Knowledge: Basics of languages like Python, Java, C#, or .NET to enhance bot functionality, write custom scripts, and integrate automation with business systems. Database & SQL Skills: Ability to interact with databases, extract, transform, and load data using SQL queries, crucial for data-driven automation processes. Understanding of APIs and UI Automation: Integration with REST/SOAP APIs and automation of user interfaces is essential for connecting RPA bots with multiple systems. Scripting Skills: Familiarity with PowerShell, VBScript, or JavaScript helps automate auxiliary tasks and system-level operations. 2. RPA Platform Proficiency Expertise in major RPA tools such as Blue Prism. Ability to leverage low-code/drag-and-drop features while also understanding the backend logic for complex operations. Knowledge of tool-specific troubleshooting, debugging, and workflow optimizations. 3. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills Process Analysis & Mapping: Identify and document business processes, spot inefficiencies, and decide suitable automation candidates. Problem-Solving & Debugging: Troubleshoot bot errors, resolve exceptions, and ensure smooth operation. Decision-Making & Logical Thinking: Design decision trees, algorithms, and contingencies for automated workflows. 4. Business and Process Knowledge Business Process Management (BPM): Understanding workflows, operational rules, and exceptions to optimize bot deployment. Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or process mining is beneficial. Ability to translate business requirements into automation logic and adhere to organizational goals for value-driven RPA solutions. 5. Workflow & UX Design Skills in workflow design using UML, BPMN, decision tables, and state diagrams to map process flows thoroughly. User Experience Awareness: Design bot interfaces and processes that are intuitive for non-technical users, ensuring seamless adoption. 6. Testing, Deployment & Maintenance Testing Skills: Validate bot functionality, handle edge cases, and ensure performance under dynamic conditions. Deployment & Monitoring: Configure bots in production, monitor run-time operations, and implement updates when process changes occur 7. Soft Skills Communication: Explain technical solutions clearly to stakeholders, business analysts, and non-technical teams. Strategic Planning: Plan automation initiatives, set goals, and anticipate future scaling requirements.
