PURPOSE:
To take responsibility for a class in Upper Key Stage 2 and deliver high-quality teaching and learning that enables all pupils to achieve their full potential, including preparation for end of Key Stage 2 assessments and successful transition to secondary school.
The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive and collaborative team, contributing to the wider life of the school and developing areas of curriculum interest over time.
CORE RESPONSIBILITES OF THE CLASS TEACHER:
• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners
• Create a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment
• Support the progress and attainment of all pupils, including those with SEND and disadvantaged pupils
• Prepare pupils effectively for end of Key Stage 2 assessments
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, using this to inform teaching
• Establish high expectations for behaviour and learning
• Provide high-quality pastoral care and support pupils’ emotional wellbeing
• Work effectively with teaching assistants and other adults to support learning
• Contribute to the life and ethos of the school
• Develop an area of curriculum interest over time, with appropriate support
