Job Overview
The Tech Service Engineer will act as an inside Application Engineer whose main duty is to guide projects through the internal engineering process, provide a four‑eye check on circuits submitted by apps, guide application lab testing, and answer technical support questions submitted via email and voicemail. This position provides the opportunity for future upward movement into the Application Engineering field.
Responsibilities
- Review projects submitted from Application Engineering for correct technical design, completeness, and external documentation such as desired manifold layout.
- Use i-Choose Pro to generate rapid quotes when requested.
- Assign projects to HIC design group, clear up any technical questions the HIC designers may have.
- Submit ECRs for changes to released blocks.
- Guide projects where needed through the release process.
- Work closely with sales operations strategic specialist to continuously monitor and improve this process.
- Provide inside technical support for Sales, Apps, and Customers, submitting tech support through our email and voicemail.
- Know where to find prints and models for both HF and CH and be able to distill that information to customers.
- Perform basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Work with Apps Lab tech to run more complex tests.
- Have working knowledge of basic electronics setup with our controllers and DAQ.
- Know how to set up and run our two benches (load sense and fixed displacement pumps).
- Translate high‑level instructions such as “run a pressure vs flow curve” into step‑by‑step instructions for a tech.
- Provide an initial “validity check” for data before the full matrix of testing is run.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
- MBA preferred.
- Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to simplify complexity.
- Proficiency with software such as MS Office, Outlook, and basic data analysis and filtering in MS Excel.
- Ability to work well under time constraints and complete projects within deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and within group settings; high emotional intelligence for interacting with engineers and salespeople.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong follow‑through and ability to build trust.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and BI/reporting tools.
Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: $78,000 to $86,000 annually. Indefinite U.S. work authorisation individuals only. Future sponsorship for work authorisation unavailable.
