Locally Employed Doctor (ST3+ Anaesthetics - Digital Fellow)
Fixed term for up to 12 months. Positions available in York and Scarborough.
Digital Critical Care Fellowship
This 12 month fellowship combines advanced clinical training with hands on experience in digital transformation. It is suitable as a stand alone fellowship or as an Out of Programme Experience (OOPE).
Responsibilities
* Lead projects to optimise workflows and improve outcomes using digital tools (Digital Transformation).
* Customise and enhance workflows within the Clinical Information System (CIS) MetaVision.
* Ensure digital solutions meet real world clinical needs (User Centred Design).
* Handle and analyse large datasets (Data Analytics).
* Participate in AI driven research in anaesthesia and critical care (AI Research).
* Undertake senior resident level clinical duties in critical care at York Hospital, gaining Stage 2 and 3 ICM competencies.
Support & Development
Structured mentorship for FRCA and FFICM exams and opportunities to pursue further education in digital health and transformation courses (subject to discussion). Support for applications to the national Tool Digital Fellowship, including guidance on digital innovation and implementation. Exposure to programming, data analysis and database manipulation (e.g. SQL, R, Python).

Person Specification
Essential Experience and Knowledge
* High level of clinical experience and skill.
* Knowledge of good medical practice and GMC requirements.
* Commitment to Continuing Medical Education and Clinical Governance.
* Experience teaching and supervising medical students and junior trainees.
* Experience in audits and presenting findings.
* Good written and spoken English for effective communication.
* Effective communication with multi disciplinary teams, patients, relatives, GPs and other agencies.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and cope with stressful situations calmly.
* Understanding of current NHS issues and efficient use of resources.
Desirable Experience and Knowledge
* Substantive NHS experience (12 months continuous).
* Experience setting up and developing clinical services, supervising SpRs/specialist trainees.
* Research experience and peer reviewed journal publications; audit programme design and implementation.
* Familiarity with service organisation and development issues.
* Willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional or national levels.
Qualifications and Training
Essential Qualifications
* MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
* European ALS.
* Completion of Foundation Year 1 and 2 (or equivalent).
* 24 months experience in the specialty.
* Fit to practise safely and up to date.
Desirable Qualifications
* MD or equivalent higher degree, or evidence of relevant research.
* Higher teaching qualification.
