Design Engineer (Design Coordinator)
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join a well-known Tier 1 contractor to manage design consultant activities and deliverables, ensuring they are completed in line with the agreed programme and client requirements.
The company is a reputable Tier 1 contractor operating nationwide throughout the UK with several regional offices. As a Design Engineer, you will join an award-winning business on a major project in the Snowdonia area.

Key responsibilities include:
* Managing technical queries process, assigning actions, and following up on responses.
* Managing and communicating all design queries, comments, and information from workshops and meetings, maintaining records.
* Raising requests for further information internally and externally from the project team.
* Supporting the Design Manager to ensure timely delivery of all design outputs as per the programme.
* Reviewing design monthly reports and producing reports on the design process and specific elements.
* Managing and updating the design deliverable schedule.
* Reviewing all design deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards.
* Attending interface meetings with external parties, recording discussions, and managing actions.
* Arranging internal design interface meetings with the construction department.
* Ensuring compliance with design management processes as per the contract.
* Collaborating with external suppliers and subcontractors.
* Managing the provision of drawings to the project team and document control.
* Managing BIM requirements for both permanent and temporary works in coordination with the BIM/CAD technician.
Experience required:
* Wide-ranging understanding and working knowledge of construction methods and outputs, with the ability to coach others.
* Substantial construction and design experience.
* Understanding of Principal Designer duties.
* Knowledge of implementing and promoting Digital Engineering practices in design and construction.
* Experience in heavy civil engineering projects is advantageous.
Package details:
* Basic salary up to £50,000 depending on experience.
