SALARY:£90,440-117,000 pa

LOCATIONS:Edinburgh, Manchester, or Leeds

HOURS: Full-time – 35 hours per week

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid – around 40% (or two days) in one of our office locations

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Are you a seasoned infrastructure engineer ready to take the next step into a strategic leadership role? We’re looking for multiple Infrastructure Engineering Leads to join our Chief Security Office and drive the evolution of secure, scalable, and automated cloud infrastructure across our hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Join us to shape the future of cloud security engineering while fostering a culture of innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

1. Provide technical leadershipto a team of engineers and strategic oversight for secure infrastructure across our security engineering labs and products.

2. Shape and lead theinfrastructure and security strategy and the technical roadmaps across the teams.

3. Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and compliant cloud and third-partysolutions, collaborating across engineering, security, and business teams.

4. Champion DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native tooling to enhance posture and reduce friction.

5. Ensure operational coverage, whilst driving automation and innovation using modern engineering practices such as Infrastructure as Code and Policy as Code and engineering delivery and maintaining platform security posture.

6. Incorporate best practices in network security, web application protection, and zero trust architecture to strengthen defence-in-depth strategies.

7. Design and deploy Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) and security controls to protect modern applications from threats and vulnerabilities.

8. Guide the integration of AI and analytics into security operations working with data scientists and AI engineers.

9. Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

We’re looking for a leader with a strong technical foundation and proven experience in:

Cloud Platforms & Infrastructure

10. Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

11. DevOps & IaC:Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Git

12. Container security: Kubernetes (K8s)

Security & Compliance

13. Cloud and application security: Cloud posture management tools (e.g. Azure Dender, GCP SCCE), WAFs (e.g. Azure WAF, Cloud Armor AWS WAF), and protection against OWASP Top 10 and emerging threats.

14. Network & infrastructure security: Network security principles (e.g. segmentation, monitoring, intrusion detection/prevention). Any experience in Zero Trust architecture in cloud environments would be very desirable.

15. Security Defence Centre Tools and practices.

Scripting & Automation

16. Python (preferred), PowerShell, Configuration as Code principles and API integration (e.g., Microsoft Graph API)

Leadership & Strategy

17. Strategic planning, innovation leadership and delivery in infrastructure and cloud security

18. Budget and resource management

19. Coaching, mentoring, and performance management
