Job Opportunity: Plumber
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Plumber to join our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account at HMP North Sea Camp, PE22 0QX. This role is based on-site.
Work Schedule: The role requires working 1 in 2 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of the basic salary.
At Amey, we support our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), by providing safe, clean, and efficient prisons. Our facilities management expertise helps keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales operational.
Role Responsibilities:
* Ensure Health & Safety standards are met across the contract.
* Perform statutory work on time, ensuring compliance.
* Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
* Inspect, sample water, and assess risks to maintain system integrity.
* Repair mains water supply and address life-expired equipment.
* Monitor the BMS System for optimal performance.
* Support zero carbon initiatives and contribute to sustainability goals.
* Handle additional tasks as directed by your line manager, including working at height and in various weather conditions.
Unique Aspects of the Role: You will ensure all work is carried out to the highest safety standards and according to method statements. Prison Security Clearance is required, and Amey will support you through this process.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience operating light plant.
* Ideally qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating; NVQ Level 2 candidates may also be considered.
* Desirable: Legionella Control (L8) certification and experience in a commercial environment. Training will be provided if needed.
