Forge Talent are working with a well-established organisation that forms part of a wider, multi-entity group. They are looking to appoint a proactive and hands-on finance professional to take ownership of the finance function within one of their key operating entities.
This is the most senior finance role on-site, offering a high level of autonomy and visibility. It would suit someone who enjoys working in a close-knit environment, partnering with operational teams, and making a tangible impact, while also benefiting from the support and structure of a larger group.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
* Ownership of month-end close processes, including accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
* Delivery of timely and high-quality financial reporting into the wider group
* Basic group consolidation activities, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
* Preparation of weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts, with ongoing monitoring of working capital
* Quarterly board reporting and submissions to group
* Supplier statement reconciliations
* Preparation and submission of VAT and CIS returns
* Preparation of statutory financial statements and support through the audit process
* Business partnering with operational stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight
* Support with the implementation and rollout of a new finance system, ensuring strong processes and controls are embedded
Skills & Experience
* Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
* Experience in preparing management accounts and statutory financial statements
* Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
* Good working knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS
* Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
* Comfortable operating in a standalone or lead finance role within an SME-style environment
