SEN Classroom Assistant - Maidenhead

An excellent opportunity has become available for a classroom support assistant supporting SEN children in a school in Maidenhead. This is a great position to gain some hands on experience working directly with vulnerable students.
Responsibilities
* Support SEN children who may struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD and various other developmental disorders by helping them achieve academic goals and maintain a positive, safe learning environment.
* Help children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health while also aiding their learning; contribute to helping students reach academic milestones.
* Be instrumental in creating a resilient, proactive environment; manage behaviour with confidence and adapt to the needs of the child or children you are working with.
* Maintain a resilient, patient, understanding and approachable attitude to support the child effectively; ensure safeguarding practices are understood and followed, reporting concerns correctly for the best interests of the child.
Qualifications
* Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential.
* Background in a related field will be considered.
* Understanding of safeguarding and the ability to report concerns correctly for the child’s best interests.
* Resilient, patient, understanding and approachable with the ability to support students’ needs.
