We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing, values‑led charity for an experienced Head of Finance. This is a senior role with responsibility for leading the financial function, ensuring strong governance & Compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making at board level.
You’ll work closely with the CEO, COO and trustees, providing clear financial insight while ensuring the organisation remains compliant within a regulated environment.
Key responsibilities
1. Lead the overall financial management of the organisation
2. Prepare and present clear financial reports to the Board of Trustees
3. Manage annual budgets and maintain a rolling 5‑year financial plan
4. Oversee year‑end accounts and manage external audits
5. Act as Company Secretary, ensuring regulatory and governance compliance
6. Lead and support the Finance and Governance Manager
7. Support funding activity such as, attending funder meetings, contributing to funding bids and producing financial reports for funders
8. Actively support the work of the senior leadership team, including advising on strategy through financial lens
Who we are looking for:
9. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
10. Previous experience in a senior finance role within a regulated environment
11. Strong technical knowledge across budgeting, forecasting and reporting
12. Confident presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and boards
13. Experience managing audits and complex financial compliance requirements
14. Commercially minded, with the ability to add value beyond the numbers
15. Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with senior leaders
16. Aligned with a purpose‑led organisation and its values
What’s on offer:
17. Salary of £50,000 – £55,000, depending on experience
