GSL Education are hiring a committed Geography Teacher to support schools in Barnsley, encouraging learners in the S70 and S71 postcode areas to engage with the world around them. As a Geography Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that cover physical landscapes, human geography, and environmental topics, helping students develop map skills, analytical abilities, and awareness of current global challenges. Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality geography lessons in line with curriculum requirements. Support students in developing analytical, map-reading, and research skills. Encourage discussion, critical thinking, and exploration of environmental and social issues. Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback. Promote positive behaviour and a collaborative learning atmosphere. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant experience as a Geography Teacher. Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering practical and theoretical lessons. Effective classroom management and communication skills. A professional and reflective approach to teaching and safeguarding. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
