Pill & Easton in Gordano Parish Council Role: Executive Officer Location: Home-based with travel to, from and around the parish for meetings and operational duties. With nearly 5,000 residents, active local groups and a growing set of duties, we are looking for an Executive Officer (Parish Clerk & RFO) who can provide steady, professional leadership and help us deliver for the people and places we serve. As our Executive Officer (Parish Clerk & RFO), you will be the council’s principal adviser, senior manager and statutory Proper Officer. You will support councillors in navigating complex issues, including the implications of local government devolution, ensure sound governance and financial stewardship, and turn strategic priorities into practical outcomes. This includes applying the Neighbourhood Plan in planning responses, progressing the refurbishment of the playing fields, supporting community initiatives and managing the local impacts of MetroWest. You will work closely with residents, volunteers, local organisations and partners across North Somerset and the wider region. This role suits someone who is confident in a political environment, able to balance perspectives, and motivated by making a visible difference in a parish setting.
