About the Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll work closely with our Head Cook and wider team to ensure meals are prepared, served, and delivered in a timely, hygienic, and person-centred way. Your work will make a real difference to the daily lives of our residents, many of whom look forward to mealtimes as a highlight of their day.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals and drinks
* Supporting the Cook with basic food preparation tasks
* Washing up and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas
* Ensuring food is stored, handled, and served safely in line with food hygiene standards
* Cleaning kitchen equipment and surfaces, following infection prevention and COSHH guidelines
* Assisting with the safe delivery of meals to residents when required
About You
No formal qualifications are required, although experience in a catering or kitchen environment (especially in a care or healthcare setting) is an advantage. We're looking for someone who is:
* Reliable, enthusiastic, and takes pride in their work
* Friendly and approachable, with a respectful and caring attitude
* Able to follow food hygiene and health & safety guidelines
* Organised and efficient, with good attention to detail
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
