Job Title: Assistant Hospitality Operations Manager
Location: Alexandria (Loch Lomond)
Salary: £27644 - £29959 (subject to experience). 5% supplement included. This is a full-time role (35 hours per week across 5 days in 7, including evenings and weekends). A driving licence and own transport are essential due to the remote location.

Responsibilities
* Assist the Manager to implement business development strategies and operational plans for catering to members, conferences, events, and special occasions (e.g., weddings) to generate income while enhancing client experience and the organization’s reputation.
* Deliver an excellent catering service through great food and customer service; provide a warm welcome to members, clients, visitors, and staff.
* Liaise with departmental colleagues, delegate work, and ensure areas are adequately resourced; monitor catering areas to ensure service standards are met.
* Monitor operational performance and efficiencies; take actions to meet budgeted targets and KPIs; advise on promotional activity and adjust as required.
* Assist with compliance of all food & drink legislation and university policies (health and safety, COSHH, manual handling, customer service, and fire safety maintenance testing).
* Develop and operate systems (Kinetics, Sharepoint Bookings, Calendar entries, and other role-relevant software).
* Assist with management and delivery of all Hospitality and Bar Services, coordinating with management, chefs, coordinators, external contacts, and departmental colleagues.
* Undertake and support the Annual Development Review (ADR) process for campus and operational team members; assist with recruitment, induction, training, and development of operational catering staff.
* Serve as first-line contact for sickness absence, holidays, performance issues, and payroll records; monitor spending and maintain stock levels and supplier orders for bar, wine, and catering supplies.
* Promote member offers and services to enhance the reputation of Catering & Hospitality to members, guests, visitors, and the wider university community.
* Perform other reasonable duties as requested, including deputising and representing the Management in their absence.
* Note: Overnight sleeping arrangements may be required to cover residents during manager absence; driving and a full licence are essential for the role due to the remote location.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience as an existing Assistant Manager or recent Assistant Manager experience with strong business and financial awareness; proven ability to manage teams in intimate hotel settings.
* Ability to engage in all aspects of operations and support growth in catering, events, and membership services.
* Full driving licence and ability to travel to Loch Lomond with own transport; flexible working hours including evenings and weekends.
* Knowledge of health and safety, COSHH, manual handling, and customer service best practices; comfortable with using hotel/venue software and booking systems.
