We are seeking an experienced Data Analysts to support a migration project transitioning banking data from on-premises Hadoop systems to a cloud-based environment. The focus is on analytics and data model implementation, rather than pipeline development. The successful candidates will collaborate with IT teams to productionize solutions and ensure the integrity and usability of banking data models.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse and interpret complex datasets, performing exploratory data analysis and producing actionable insights.
* Contribute to the design and implementation of data models, understanding how they function within banking systems without being solely responsible for modelling.
* Work closely with IT teams to ensure seamless productionization of data solutions.
* Utilise advanced SQL and Hadoop skills for data manipulation and analysis.
* Apply cloud-based analytics tools, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS), to support migration and reporting requirements.
* Develop reports and visualizations using Power BI or equivalent tools to communicate findings to stakeholders.
* Translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
* Support data-driven decision-making across the business by providing accurate and timely analyses.
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong SQL expertise and hands-on experience with Hadoop in large-scale data environments.
* Solid understanding of data analysis, data modelling concepts, and database management.
* Practical experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS services, including analytics and deployment considerations.
* Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI.
* Programming skills in Python or R for analytical tasks.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Previous experience within the banking or financial services sector preferred.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, delivering high-quality results on tight timelines.
