Details of the position
* In-house Legal Counsel role supporting a large, regulated UK business with a strong digital and data agenda
* Broad commercial remit with a clear focus on digital products, data, IT and privacy
* Trusted adviser to senior stakeholders on complex, business-critical issues
* Exposure to UK and EU regulatory frameworks in a fast-moving environment
* Opportunity to lead legal input on major projects and initiatives

Key responsibilities
* Advise on digital, data protection, privacy and technology matters across the business
* Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial and technology contracts
* Act as legal lead for digital and data-driven projects
* Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess business impact
* Manage disputes and litigation within remit
* Coordinate with global legal and compliance stakeholders
* Ensure activities align with applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards
About you
* UK-qualified solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (England & Wales)
* 3+ years of post-qualification experience at a law firm or in-house
* Strong experience in digital, IT and data protection/privacy law
* Background in a regulated industry (e.g. life sciences, healthcare, technology, financial services) preferred
* Confident operating independently on complex legal issues
* Commercial, pragmatic approach to risk
* Clear communicator, comfortable working with non-legal stakeholders
