Mechanical Fitter
Location: Bristol
Salary: £40, 500 per year
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 Off – Nights

Mechanical Fitter are required to join a globally recognised engineering business, in Bristol, on a permanent basis. The role is based on a 4 day working week.
Your New Opportunity:
Join one of the biggest names in the rail sector in the UK as a Mechanical Fitter, that is expanding their heavy maintenance function, with a focus on the servicing, maintenance and repair of transportation vehicles, to accommodate a large increase of workload due to recent contract wins and legacy work.
Key responsibilities:
Mechanical and electrical fitment activities onto rolling stock vehicles.
Ensuring all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed to company standards.
Adhering to health & safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards.
The Candidate
Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a heavy engineering environment.
Background in maintenance and examination work within sectors such as REME (ex-forces), HGV, buses/coaches, aircraft, large machinery, or ideally locomotives/rolling stock.
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings/schematics.
Essential Criteria
Proven experience in maintenance and fault-finding within transport or plant-related engineering.
Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in mechanical/electrical engineering.
Full UK driving licence or local to the depot.
