As a Building Surveyor, you will work with talented colleagues on diverse projects across retail, health, energy, commercial property, education, and public sectors. You will be pivotal in managing client relationships and handling technical and legal issues in our multidisciplinary, collaborative environment.
Your Purpose
* Work across various projects providing refurbishment, improvement, and modernisation services, with experience in Blue Light sectors being desirable.
* Undertake feasibility studies, produce specifications, obtain estimates and statutory approvals, and administer contracts for refurbishment projects.
* Utilise and apply standard forms of building contracts such as JCT and NEC, and provide professional building surveying services.
* Mentor and train Building Surveyors and support Junior Surveyors on the RICS APC programme. Complete fire risk assessments, Passive Compartmentation Surveys, and Fire Strategy reports.
* Understand principles of quality, safety, and environmental management in asset surveys, project design, and management. Support senior managers in daily activities.
* Manage junior Building Surveying staff, conduct lifecycle condition surveys, inspections, schedules, and regional schemes, including 6 Facet surveys.
* Develop new business opportunities through bid preparation and submission.
What You Can Bring
* A B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying or a similar RICS-accredited degree.
* Chartered status is essential or highly desirable, with sound technical surveying knowledge and significant experience.
* Experience managing clients, with strong understanding of profitability, business development, and commercial awareness.
* Experience mentoring, training, and managing workloads and projects.
* Proficiency in drafting technical documents, including client requirements, asset reviews, feasibility studies, specifications, and drawings. Full knowledge of Health and Safety and statutory compliance.
* Technical skills in areas such as Dilapidations, Party Wall, Fire Risk, and Access Assessments. Excellent time management, punctuality, and commitment to completing tasks.
