Due to increased demand, our client now seeks a Quality Engineer.

Main purpose:
To serve as a proactive, cross-functional link between the Quality and Manufacturing teams, developing cost-effective and efficient production methods to meet customer requirements while complying with relevant standards. The role may require deputising for the Quality Senior, acting as Quality Representative in their absence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Handle sensitive data with discretion and professionalism.
* Assist the Quality Team to meet departmental goals.
* Create documentation for work breakdown structures to ensure safe, efficient manufacturing and timely achievement of production targets.
* Support future business opportunities through feedback to Production Engineering and Estimating teams.
* Provide technical support to Production personnel, ensuring queries are addressed promptly.
* Manage change control of engineering drawings and transfer of related information.
* Evaluate build documentation, identify improvements, and update as needed.
* Manage non-conformances, update registers, and escalate issues to resolve them efficiently.
* Conduct routine patrol inspections of manufacturing areas, recording data accordingly.
* Review and develop manufacturing processes, perform quality checks, and troubleshoot faulty parts, jigs, and fixtures.
* Assist in planning and coordinating production and quality outputs.
* Maintain KPI data and communication boards.
* Review and update training matrices for production and inspection personnel.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Engineering (desirable).
* Demonstrable experience or portfolio.
* Auditor training (preferred).
Essential experience:
* At least 3 years in a similar engineering quality role.
* Experience leading projects.
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
* Experience with document and data control.
* Knowledge of BS EN ISO 9001 and customer-focused environments.
* Ability to prioritize and work independently.
* Proficient in report writing, WI, QA, and safety procedures.
* Strong IT skills with attention to detail.
* Proactive and deadline-oriented work ethic.
* Team player with a hands-on approach.
* Flexible to perform other tasks and learn new skills.
* Experience with inspection activities across industries like Defence, Rail, Automotive.
* Strong problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis tools.
* Ability to produce quality documentation aligned with customer requirements.
Desirable skills:
* Experience with CMM and multi-axis measuring devices (e.g., FARO).
* Experience creating FAI documentation.
* Qualified in Lean Six Sigma.
* Planning experience, including NPI and product lifecycle management.
* Knowledge of standards like EN, ISO 3834, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 18001.
* Experience with Defence, Rail, and Automotive standards.
* Supply chain management and supplier auditing experience.
Package:
* Monday to Friday (subject to change).
* Core hours 07:00-16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:00-12:30 Friday.
* 39 hours/week, with potential for additional hours.
