Housing Support Leads | temporary contracts/secondment opportunities until March 2027 | 37 hours per week | £30,559 to £32,654 per annum | Grade G | Countywide
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team which will be able to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people in Norfolk.
We are looking for two Housing Support Leads (fixed term or secondment to 31/03/27 in the first instance) who willwork in partnership with social care professionals and housing providers to prevent homelessness and improve housing outcomes for children and young people unsuitably housed or approaching a planned transition.
This will include:
* Provide thorough, professional and timely housing advice to parents/carers, young people and practitioners
* Build good working relationship with local landlords, registered providers and housing authorities.
* Providing outreach tenancy support for young people and families identified as ‘at risk’ of losing their tenancy
* Reducing the number of children and young people in unsuitable and temporary accommodation
The Housing Support team aims to:
* Reduce the number of children and young people in unsuitable/insecureaccommodation.
* Reduce the section 17 spend on Homelessness related activities.
The role can include travel within Norfolk, and you will need to be responsible for your own travel arrangements (mileage paid in accordance with the expenses procedure). Your work will include direct work with young people and families, including working in family homes.
